Estimated national sales figures are calculated based on sales at 17,806 stores nationwide that cooperate in the survey (CD stores, rental and book stores, electronics mass merchandisers, convenience stores, genre specialty stores, and Internet retailers) that sell music and video software.

The physical count is based on domestic and imported albums (only albums are included for imports) with a list price of 250 yen or more including tax, with a JAN code assigned by the distributor or retailer, and which are sold in Japan (products shipped outside Japan are not included). (Products shipped outside Japan are not eligible)

This chart measures the popularity of songs on TikTok. The chart is generated by receiving numerical data from TikTok on how songs are used and viewed in videos and multiplying it by a coefficient originally developed by Billboard Japan to generate a ranking of the top 20 songs.
