How do we stream on Spotify?
Here’s an easy streaming guide and how to make your own playlist!
WHAT IS ACTIVE AND PASSIVE STREAMING?
Active Streaming is applicable If you can actively monitor your streams, when active streaming try to manually search the songs. After streaming the song individually, make sure not to play the same song after switching to a playlist. Active streaming lets you control your streams so your streams are less likely to get filtered. This is also important when aiming to enter Spotify Global Charts.
Passive Streaming. If you are busy and are not able to monitor your streams real-time, you can choose your playlist to loop. Consequently, this will increase the risk of your streams getting filtered, but will still count to spotify counters regardless.
WHAT IS AUTOPLAY?

Autoplay is a setting that allows the system to play similar songs once playing the album or artist’s songs is done. This is not recommended when passively streaming as it will play other artist’s song without you noticing.
Allowing the system to automatically play all songs of the artist, the album or playlist and will play similar songs after playing all the songs so the music will never stop unless you manually turn it off by manually choosing a playlist or song without clicking the Autoplay button. Turning off Autoplay will only play the songs included in an album or playlist.
WHAT ARE UNFILTERED AND FILTERED STREAM?
Unfiltered streams are original streams you see beside the song (spotify counter) whenever you check Spotify via Laptop or Desktop. This also includes streams that are marked spam.
Filtered streams are legitimate streams that underwent filtering according to Spotify’s algorithm, this removes streams that have been observed with bot behavior, like looping the song and is the one used when compiling the Spotify Charts.
WHAT IS “APPEARS ON” AND WHY IS IT ON ARTIST’S PROFILE?

Appears On section displays an artist’s works (songs, singles, album, remic, etc.) that you are not listed as a primary artist on, but have contributed to as a performing artist or remixer.
SPOTIFY CHART
SPOTIFY GLOBAL CHART
Spotify recently introduced a new chart system. This includes Top Songs, Top Albums, Top Artists and Viral Songs that compiles data per region on a daily or weekly period listing Top 100 to Top 200.
GLOBAL TOP SONGS (TOP 200)
This chart lists the Top 200 with the most filtered streams on a global scale for both Daily and Weekly Period. To chart on Spotify Global Top Song Chart, we would more or less 1 Million filtered streams, this varies according to the current trend. Normally this can be reached with around 1.2 Million unfiltered streams.
RESET TIME
Spotify tracking period resets everyday at 9 AM KST. This is the reason why 2nd day streams appears to have bigger numbers than 1st day as it has a full tracking period.
WHAT IS MONTHLY LISTENERS AND FOLLOWERS?
![](https://7dreamglobal.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/02/img-20240123-wa0024.jpg?w=754)
Monthly Listeners are Unique Listeners who played an artist’s music during a 28 day period. This is important as it shows how many users are currently listening to the artist. It also represents an artist’s popularity on the platform.
Followers are the number of users who Liked or Followed the artist’s profile
WHEN DO I GET ADDED/REMOVED FROM MONTHLY LISTENERS?
You will be added on the Monthly Listeners the day you played one song of the artist. If you stopped playing any of that artist’s songs the next day, it will remove you on the Monthly Listeners 28 days after the day you first stopped playing any of the song. To maintain NCT DREAM’s Monthly Listerners, The listeners should keep playing their song atleast once everyday.
MORE ABOUT PLAYLIST

Making Playlists.
Use focused-song playlists with a duration of around 2 hours, with 3 or 4 filler songs in between, you can add your song choices for fillers or use nct/members’ songs.
Curated-Playlists.
Spotify has officially-curated playlists such as K-Pop ON! (with 5,3 M followers), K-Pop Rising, etc. These playlists ranks the songs based on relevancy and streams. It is recommended for you to stream NCT Dream songs whenever they are added on these playlists to help it maintain their spot on the Playlist, this would mean that the song will get extra streams or more chances for the general audience to stream the song and gain attention.
Featured Playlists.
These are playlists where NCT DREAM songs are added/listed. When switching playlists, you can use ‘This Is NCT Dream’ official playlist as a filler playlist. It goes through all the latest songs to their more popular or streamed songs then switch back to a focused-song playlist.
Switching Playlists.
One new spotify feature that was added recently was allowing you to add a playlist of your choice on your home screen, you can do this by clicking the playlist setting and find ‘Add to Home Screen’. This would make switching playlist easier as clicking on it will redirect you to the playlist itself.
